JCA
EU Joint Clinical Assessment.
The EU-wide clinical assessment under HTAR — one shared dossier, multiple national pricing decisions, on a clock that doesn't move.
The Joint Clinical Assessment (JCA) is the EU-level clinical evaluation under the Health Technology Assessment Regulation (HTAR). One dossier, assessed jointly by member states, on a fixed timeline tied to EMA approval. National bodies still run pricing and reimbursement — but they can no longer ask for clinical evidence the JCA hasn't already considered.
In practice, JCA forces earlier alignment on PICOs, comparators and subgroup definitions across all participating markets. Misalignment costs you market access timing.
Map the comparator, draft the clinical benefit narrative against G-BA expectations, and source every claim back to the trial publication, label or SmPC.
Build a NICE company evidence submission against the reference case: ITCs pre-checked, model inputs reproducible, every assumption traceable.
Pull every relevant comparator readout, precedent decision and methodological objection into one workspace.
