Reading a NICE FAD without losing the plot

What the Final Appraisal Document tells you that nobody says out loud.

The four signals

A FAD reads like a careful committee minute. Four signals tell you what actually moved the decision: comparator framing, ERG critique acceptance, severity / end-of-life criteria, and managed access proposals.

How the committee describes the comparator — current standard of care, established management, best supportive care — tells you what they accepted as the relevant counterfactual.
